As I have implied, your life between the promise of God and its fulfillment will not be a saunter through the countryside on a pleasant spring day. You will encounter much travail of soul and trials of your faith. If I should tell you otherwise, I would be deceiving you. All men and women, even those who are saved, experience them. But hardships in life are not important; what matters greatly is that you learn how to deal with them. The Bible instructs us that “The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity…” meaning that the right attitude makes all the difference in the world in how we cope with the troubles of this life. The same passage goes on to say, “but a wounded spirit who can bear?” meaning we cannot successfully deal with adversities when we have a fearful, cringing attitude.
